The CAT 6A (Augmented) data cable has its origin in CAT 6 and is backward with the standards of the lower categories (CAT 6 / 5E and CAT 3). Category 6a has evolved from category 6, allowing to reach transmission frequencies up to 500 MHz (each pair) and with a transfer speed up to 10 Gbps.
